As you all know, I have gone a little crazy in french training this past month. I have been slowly going nuts. As Andrew can attest my mood swings and depression were getting out of control. Unfortunately, I failed my test yet again, receiving the same score I had gotten 2 months ago. However, after talking with post and my language supervisor, I am going to blow off the tenure requirement and head to Bangkok!

So we are headed out August 15th and most likely arriving in Bangkok on the 18th. This includes a mini stop over in Hong Kong.

I am sure you have a lot of questions. Feel free to post below.

In the long term the lack of tenure does mean I can be booted from the Foreign Service in 5 years. Additionally, since I am going to Thailand there are not many possibilities to speak french. So we hope our next post will be french speaking and after a year there I could easily pass the exam. Who knows though. As much as it would stink to have to quit the FS after only 5 years. I am sure I will gain a lot of non language related experience abroad :)
