**UPDATE: REJECTED.  My July BirchBox was rejected, and since they aren't allowing APO shipments, I cannot recommend this product**

The family was nice enough to purchase BirchBox for me for Mother's day and this is my second box I have received  Overall I have mixed feelings on BirchBox.

How it Works: The company sends you 5-6 samples of cosmetics related items in box sets sometimes of your choosing.  These items are generally slightly larger than samples, but certainly not full size.  The box $10 a month, but you do get access to their store and 10 point credit for rating the materials in the box.  100 points does equate to $10 in their store.

To be frank, if you don't have regular access to internet to do the reviews and don't want to be following Birchbox religiously this may not be the box for you.  In addition, they do not ship APO.

All that being said, the products in this box were halfway decent.  Mine included sample sizes of the following items:

1) Davines SU Hair and Body Wash
2) Harvey Prince Hello Body Cream
3) Marcel BB cream
4) Oribe Cote d'Azu perfum
5) Real Chemistry 3-minute Peel

I am familiar with the body cream and wash, and it is always good to have samples.  I am stoked to try a different brand of BB cream, but I loathe perfume samples.  They always end up sitting in a drawer.

To be honest, I feel like I could also get all these for free with purchase at Sephora. I would ask for the FS/military community to jump in with differing takes on the product as it is QUITE popular in the US.  IPSY is the famous competitor.  But I will be the first to admit I know VERY LITTLE about makeup and face brand.  Check out beautygala.com if that interests you.

Overall out of 10 I give the box 6 on quality, 6 on cost (it is cheap), 5 on appropriate for me and 4 on fun (the APO thing is a real bummer because I got an email telling me what was in it before I got the box).

You can pick up BirchBox here.
