June marked the innaugral box of Fanmail.  I was super excited for this new box because it is "mystery box designed for lady geeks (by lady geeks!), which means that each box is filled with amazing products from the fandoms you love!"  This includes items from favorite sources of entertainment, including Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Buffy, The Avengers, Spider-Gwen, Star Trek, Star Wars, Legend of Zelda, The Hunger Games, Teen Wolf, Supernatural and much more! Naturally this is my nerdosity.

This month's box was entitled Legeds & Lore and seems to be sticking to medievalesque theme.  The items were an interesting selection of jewelry  and fun kitsch items. The box comes with a great two sided info card which explains each item (saved me some googling) and also includes important upcoming pop events such as cons, video game releases, comic book release dates and tv release.  This is a great touch, though does assume you have access to all of these (sadly being in Ghana, I do not).

Jewelry first: the box includes two pieces of jewelry one from the "Legend of Zelda" and the other is a brooch from The Hobbit.  Both pieces are cute and perhaps if I was 10 years younger I would get a lot of wear out of them, but I have a feeling these may collect dust in my jewelry box.  Though, the Zelda piece is cute.  Maybe I can psyche myself into it.  The two pieces together may retain close to $20.

Next was a cute T-shirt from "How to Train Your Dragon." I liked the movie and I think this will be a fun night shirt.  I imagine my 2 year old will think its awesome! In addition, I received a second T-shirt for signing up for the 6 month subscription.  Oddly and sadly, they are both in large men sizes, which is slightly baffling given the nature of the box, but I will go back into my account and adjust my settings (hopefully) for the future.

It took me a bit to pinpoint why my box smelled so amazing and then I saw the "Sorcerer's Stone" Soap by Amaethyst Soap (which sells on Etsy for 7.99)  It's cute and a fun HP reference. In addition, in HP land there were a set of a button and nail decals for HP (Button and Nails $8). There were also additional buttons for "Once upon a time" and "The Hobbit."

Lastly was a mock up of a wedding invitation of Jeffrey Baratheon & Margaery Tyrell with special blood soakedness.  It was a cute touch and creative. Also, my name was written on the I liked the personalization.

Overall, I found the box super cute and really enjoyed getting in on the innaugral box.  I am concerned a tad about value for the money (even with the extra T-shirt) going forward.  I have high hopes for this box so I am going to stick with it.  Its 100% for girly geeks looking for a fun box of smiles.

Out of 10 I give the box 8 on quality, 5 on cost, 8 on appropriate for me and 8 on "fun."  Looking forward to the next box.

Fanmail ships APO and is exploring military/diplomatic discounts.
